Anti-Acne Beauty Ritual: How to stop acne naturally

Do you suffer from imperfections and are you looking for a lasting solution? Discover my anti-acne beauty ritual that helped me achieve healthy skin. Contrary to popular belief, aggressive products are not the solution. Here's how to tackle the problem at its root with the benefits of natural products.

Understanding the factors and causes of acne

To permanently eliminate imperfections, it is essential to understand how they form. The primary cause of acne is hormonal, resulting in overproduction of sebum.

Oily skin shines because its pH is no longer acidic enough. Deprived of their natural protective barrier, bacteria proliferate on the skin's surface, causing irritation and pimples. The mechanism is simple: the accumulation of sebum, keratin, and bacteria clogs the pores. Upon contact with air, this plug oxidizes and turns into a blackhead. When a pore is completely blocked, sebum is trapped, the skin becomes inflamed, and an acne pimple appears.

The key role of skin pH

But what exactly is pH? pH measures the acidity of a substance. Not all skin has the same acidity; this is a very important factor that defines your skin type (oily, dry, normal, or combination). Healthy skin needs to maintain its natural acidity to repel the bacteria responsible for acne.

Why use a vegetable oil to regulate oily skin?

Once you understand this mechanism, it's much easier to accept the idea of applying a greasy substance to your face. Vegetable oils have a slightly acidic pH, ideal for restoring the skin barrier. They regulate skin acidity and fluidize sebum flow.

Furthermore, some oils have powerful anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties, capable of soothing already infected pimples. You might think that rubbing oil on an oily face is counterintuitive? Think again. By choosing a fine vegetable oil with good penetration, you will see improvements in a very short time.

Jojoba oil, the targeted care par excellence: Choose an oil with a lipid profile very similar to human sebum. At the top of the list is undoubtedly Jojoba oil. It helps lower your skin's pH and decrease your sebum production, automatically reducing oiliness and the appearance of pimples.

My daily acne skin care ritual

What exactly can you do to regain beautiful skin? Here are the essential steps of my natural ritual.

1. Gentle cleansing (without stripping)

The golden rule: stop harsh cleansers! Our epidermis needs to be nourished and cleaned properly, but always gently. Permanently eliminate alcoholic lotions and conventional soaps that dry out the skin.

  • Soap option: If you find a good lye-free soap, like cold-processed superfatted natural soap (SAF), go for it!
  • Oil option: Otherwise, simply cleanse your skin with a suitable vegetable oil.

2. Hydration and nourishment

After cleansing comes the hydration step. Daily apply a little vegetable oil in circular motions to all areas of the face.

A little extra for essential oil enthusiasts: Add a single drop of true Lavender, Geranium rosat, Ylang-Ylang, or Myrtle essential oil to your dose of vegetable oil. Be sure to choose a gentle, non-irritating oil. Your skin will transform in less than a month!

3. How to remove makeup naturally?

For makeup removal, soak a reusable sponge or organic cotton pad with apricot kernel oil, or apply the oil directly to the face with your finger. This oil is perfectly suited to dissolve and remove all traces of makeup, even waterproof.

Once the face is massaged with the oil, finish cleansing by spraying an Immortelle, Myrtle, Rose, or Witch Hazel hydrosol. Gently wipe with a clean cotton pad. The floral water will remove all greasy residues while providing its soothing virtues.
