Origins

Roman Chamomile is so named because the Romans cultivated it in large quantities for its virtues. As for its Latin name, "chamaemelum", it comes from the Greek word "khamaimêlon", "ground apple" due to the green apple scent it gives off when stepped on.


Its hydrosol is often recommended for baby skin and hypersensitive skin; it calms and soothes redness and skin allergies. Baby colic can be soothed with a little hydrosol in the bottle, or on the nipple for breastfed babies.

As an infusion or pillow mist, it soothes nervous and anxious minds and promotes better sleep.

Precautions for use

Hydrolats are gentler substances than essential oils. They have no intrinsic contraindications.

However, this does not exclude the possibility of you reacting to the active ingredients they contain (if in doubt, perform an elbow crease test).

Storage: Please note, floral waters are fresh products. Their shelf life is therefore shorter than that of essential oils (about 1 year). To maximize it, be sure to store your hydrolats in a cool place, away from air, heat, and light.
