Origins

The bitter orange tree, or Seville orange, is a citrus fruit mainly known for the sweet and particularly delicate scent of its flowers. It thrives in our sunny garden on the plains of the Costa Verde and delights us with the sweet fragrance of its blossoms every spring. This is when distillation takes place. The small white flowers are hand-picked, releasing an intoxicating scent throughout the harvest, but watch out for its thorns that prick your fingertips. It takes 2 tons of flowers for barely 1 kilo of essential oil. For this reason, we content ourselves with producing its hydrolate. For each distillation of orange blossoms, we keep the hydrolate from the first half hour, as this is when the active plant ingredients are most concentrated.

Orange blossom, also called Neroli, has soothing properties for all symptoms related to stress. It can help you regain your calm, relax, and fall asleep peacefully. Appreciated for olfactory diffusion and as a spray, it accompanies you at any age to calm nervousness and anxiety.

Neroli is also one of the most widely used hydrolates in cosmetics. It is a precious ally for sensitive, dry, and stress-reactive skin. A few sprays on reddened skin, on the face and/or décolleté, and it will regain its usual radiance.

Properties: Soothing, calming to the nervous system, comforting, sedative, anti-stress, skin regenerating.

Precautions for use

Hydrolats are milder substances than essential oils. They have no intrinsic contraindications.

However, this does not exclude the possibility of you reacting to the active ingredients they contain (if in doubt, perform an elbow crease test).

Storage: Please note, floral waters are fresh products. Their shelf life is therefore shorter than that of essential oils (approximately 1 year). To maximize it, be sure to store your hydrolats in a cool place, away from air, heat, and light.
