Origins

Eucalyptus globulus is a tree widely found throughout the world, often used for its medicinal properties. This beautiful tree, belonging to the large aromatic myrtle family, has recognized anti-infective and expectorant effects.

Because its essential oil is very potent, Ravintsara or... is preferable.Myrtlefor sensitive subjects (children, people with asthma).

It is harvested in the Eucalyptus forests planted long ago by the ONF (National Forestry Office) in the Eastern Plain, partly for firewood but also to drain and reclaim marshland. This can be described as wild harvesting (regulated by the "Charter for the harvesting of aromatic and medicinal plants in CorsicaThe leaves and stems are crushed before distillation to increase the yield. Distillation takes place from spring to autumn, with the best distillations probably being those done in autumn.

Precautions for use

Do not use during pregnancy (abortifacient) or breastfeeding. Always use essential oils diluted in a vegetable oil. Avoid internal use.

Irritating when diffused - mix with other essential oils. Not recommended for asthmatics. Use for short periods - may be neurotoxic with prolonged use.
