Origins

Originally from the Far East, the mandarin orange is said to owe its name to the color of the robes worn by mandarins, high-ranking Chinese officials during the Empire. Like the mandarins, the fruit's flesh is reddish-orange. Cultivated for over 3,000 years, the mandarin orange is believed to have arrived in Europe relatively late, thanks to Portuguese explorers returning from Asia at the end of the 19th century.

Aude Maillard, an aromatherapist, explains the difference between red, yellow, and green mandarins. They come from the same species but are obtained from fruit at different stages of ripeness. Their composition is very similar, and their properties and uses are the same. Only their scents differ: green mandarin is fresh and invigorating, yellow mandarin is sweet and floral, and red mandarin is fruitier and sweeter.

Green Mandarin Essence is a favorite among toddlers. Its positive and soothing notes calm them, soothe them, and help them drift off to sleep. It also inspires calm and serenity in adults, especially when nervousness and anger tend to take over.

Indulgent and uplifting, Green Mandarin is one of the essences obtained through cold pressing. A very specific technique that we entrust to our partner.
