Origins

The grapefruit is considered by Chinese civilization to be one of the three blessed fruits, along with the peach and the lemon. It is a tree that can reach 5 to 6 meters in height, with dense, dark green, evergreen, oval, and slightly winged leaves. The interior of the tree forms a canopy where the fruits tend to grow in clusters, hence its English name, "grapefruit." It bears large, yellow fruits with thick skin and yellow pulp.
